Wilma Elaine Rekow

Wilma Elaine Rekow, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025.

She leaves behind the love of her life, Alexander Rekow, her husband of 68 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Wilma was the proud mother of Alisa, Alexander (Joanne), and Karen (Kevin) Healy, and the cherished grandmother of Evangeline, James, Edward and Isabel.

A woman of deep faith, Wilma devoted countless hours to The Church of Our Saviour in Manhasset. She was an avid reader and spent many joyful hours at the Port Washington Library. Wilma and Alex traveled widely and together they went on fantastic journeys and explored the world with great wonder and joy.

Known for her wit and wisdom, Wilma was never wrong. She was also an expert in pinochle, a game she played with her family often, along with other board games and puzzles that always brought everyone together.

Wilma will be remembered for her honesty, faith, compassion, hard work, selflessness and the unwavering love she gave to her family and friends.
