Morgan Ayres Ii

Ayres, Morgan Willcox, II age 93, died peacefully on Feb. 23 at home in Greenvale, NY after a long illness. Devoted and caring husband of the late Eda Maria, who passed in 1998 in their 50th year of marriage. Loving father of Peter (Emma), Christopher, Leslie Seiden (William), Timothy (Elizabeth), John, Jacqueline Powers (Curtis), Hon. David (Cindy) and eight grandchildren, A native of NYC, he was educated at Horace Mann and Trinity School and attended Columbia University before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he achieved the rank of Major. He served two year in the European theater of operations, participating in the Normandy invasion and the army of occupation in Germany. After WWII, he entered the retailing field, serving as a vice president of Abraham & Straus and Bergdorf Goodman. Upon retirement, he served as Director of Career Services at Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. A private Mass and remembrance will be held by his family.
