It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Kelly, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this life on October 21, 2025. Born in Floral Park, NY, Michael spent his life exemplifying the values of hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Michael proudly worked as a cement finisher for Local 780 in Queens, where his strong will and craftsmanship earned him respect amongst his peers. A devoted family man, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Angela Kelly, and his children: Michael (Donna), Brian (Lori), Allison (Jason), and Christopher (Jaclyn). Michael was a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren: Matthew (Hannah), Brieana, McKayla, Brian Jr., Megan, Michael, Faith, James, Michael, Morgan, Maggie, McKenzie, and Alexandra, and a great-grandfather to Blaize and Harley. He was lovingly known as "Pa" to all his grandchildren and had a unique ability to connect with each of them, leaving a lasting legacy of love and guidance.
Michael was deeply passionate about his interests, including being an avid Islanders fan and enjoying stock car racing. Every summer, he cherished time spent in Boothbay, ME, with his family. He skillfully crafted beautiful birdhouses that adorned his yard in Sea Cliff, NY, reflecting his creativity and spirit. His commitment to family and friends created a bond that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Michael's siblings, Margaret, Ann, Patricia, John, and Patrick, will hold him in their hearts, remembering the love and joy he brought into their lives. He was predeceased by his siblings Danny, Joe, and Mary, and they welcome him with open arms.
To celebrate Michael's remarkable life, family and friends are invited to Whitting Funeral Home on October 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Oyster Bay, on October 24, 2025, at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Locust Valley Cemetery.
In this time of remembrance, we invite all who knew and loved Michael to come share in his legacy of love, devotion, and laughter. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
