John Kiela

John Kiela, age 75, of Glen Cove, NY, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, surrounded by loved ones and comforted by the Last Rites of the Catholic Church. Born on March 1, 1951, in Katowice, Poland, John was the beloved son of the late Janina and Józef Kiela. John was a deeply devoted husband to his wife, Albina, with whom he shared 46 beautiful years of marriage. His greatest passion in life was his family, and he poured endless love into his children and grandchildren. He possessed a rare gift for making people laugh, always bringing joy, wit, and smiles to those around him. John is survived by his loving wife, Albina; his cherished children, Michelle, Andrew and wife Laurie; his adored grandchildren, Jacob and Lily; and his sister, Barbara, along with her children, Dorothy and Bo.

John was loved and will be remembered by his aunts,many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Janina and Józef.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 29th, at 10:00 AM at St. Hyacinth’s Church. A procession will follow to the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury, where he will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to a charity of your choice.
