Irving “Ovadia” Telvi, 94, of Glen Cove, NY, passed away on October 13, 2025.
Irving was born into humble means in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. From an early age, he had a passion for work. He started out selling hot dogs at McCarron Park. Then he had his first real business, a Luncheonette in Woodside. From Woodside, he graduated to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, with his brother Leon, where they proudly co-owned the “Corned Beef Corner.”
Irving was a man of few words and a man of action. He represented honor and integrity, and always placed his family first. He always had a kind word for anyone and an ear to listen. Anything that had to do with food, you were definitely talking to the right person. He will be greatly missed.
Irving is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marie. He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey and daughter, Sandy. Dear Grandfather of Giulianna. Irving is predeceased by his daughter, Giselle.
