Bridget Connolly

Bridget Connolly (née Heaney), of Long Island, New York, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years on March 3, 2026. Fondly known as "Bridie" by many, she was born on September 16, 1939 in Castleblayney, County Monaghan, Ireland. Bridie, the daughter of James Heaney and Bridget Heaney (née Goodman), had a loving, humble upbringing in Ireland surrounded by four brothers: Paddy, Jim, Audie, and John Heaney, and two sisters: Mary Ridener and Kathleen Quinn. At age 22, she emigrated to New York to join her beloved from Ireland, Eamonn Connolly. The two were married in November of 1961, and they were blessed with 49 happy years together. Special memories and thoughts of Bridget will perpetuate in the hearts of her three cherished children: Michele Drago (Paul), James Connolly (Carolyn), and Allison Sarnowski (Edward), her sweet grandchildren: Lea Hedstrom (Matthew), James Connolly Jr., Paul Michael Drago, Evelyn Sarnowski, and Noelle Sarnowski, her little great-grandchildren: Carter Hedstrom and Bennett Hedstrom, and many nieces and nephews. Bridget will be remembered for: her devotion to her family, the pride she took in her work, her integrity, empathy, and good intentions, and the genuine love she shared. May she rest in peace as we keep all the wonderful memories of her alive in our hearts forever.
