Arthur E. "Buddy" Cook passed away on August 20, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a lifetime of memories that will continue to be shared for generations.
Buddy was the beloved husband of Sally and a devoted father to John Edward (Dawn), Joseph Thomas(Mitchell), Richard William (Elizabeth), and Maria. He was a proud grandfather to Joseph Simmons (Jen),Richard, Faith, Paige, Tyler, Bianca, and Emmy, and a cherished great-grandfather to Otto John Simmons. He was also a loving godfather to Erica Jordan and Heather Hesse.
Born to Arthur George and Sarah Cook, Buddy was the oldest brother in a large and close family. He carried that role throughout his life, always watching over his brothers and sisters. He was the brother of Chris (the late Barbara), the late Thomas (Carol), Russell, David (Linda), Wayne (the late Nikki), and his cherished sister Carole Hesse (the late John), and Jeannette.
Buddy proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He also gave of himself through his service with the fire department, where he helped protect his community and save lives. Service, responsibility, courage, and loyalty were woven throughout his life.
He loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and sports, but some of his greatest joy came from sharing life with his family. He supported his sons in their sports and, as the years passed, took great pride in watching his grandchildren play. Whether it was a game, a family gathering, or simply a moment when someone needed him, Buddy showed up. That was who he was.
To those who knew him best, Buddy will be remembered not only for what he did, but for the way he loved his family — as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, godfather, and friend. His presence was strong, his loyalty ran deep, and the stories, laughter, lessons, and memories he leaves behind will remain a lasting part of the family he loved.
Buddy's life was one of service, family, and devotion. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
