Founder of Whitting Funeral Home
Frank (Boo) Whitting & Muriel Whitting.
Celebrating the 65 years anniversary.
In 1940,
Mr. Strettle F. Whitting began operating the S.F. Whitting Funeral Home in Glen Cove, NY.
He subsequently served in World War II, temporarily left
the funeral home business, and
then opened another funeral home after the
war in Sea Cliff, NY. In 1955, he moved the
business to its present location
in Glen Head, and incorporated
it in 1960 as Whitting
Funeral Home.
Today, the tradition of
caring service that began in 1940 continues in one of the most respected funeral homes on
Long Island. Mr. Whitting's two sons, Strettle Jr. and Scott, along with grandsons David
and Strettle III ("Codge"),
now operate the funeral home.
